On The Radio : 040224

For those of you that don't recognise the connection to the radio enshrined in the image above, it's London's famous Walkie Talkie building in Fenchurch Street.

Last Sunday's show was an improvement on the week before but unfortunately still littered with glitches around transition time. In no particular order, there were two halves of a news bulletin to start with, an unplanned appearance by Bill Haley, half a weather forecast, some unnoticed contributions from family members and a handover from In Bed with TC that didn't take account of the fact that he was broadcast on Royal Borough Radio AND Radio Roadhouse UK. It wasn't quite a shambles but it was a little tense at key points.

The station is now growing very quickly and things will improve. Darren, the owner, has offered to teach me how to edit my own show. He says it's easy but, at this stage it feels like a hospital pass!

Still, you did get to hear all the songs which were:

  1. The Whole of the Moon : The Waterboys

  2. Cycles of the Season : The Coral

  3. Clipo Clipo : Jess Sah Bi & Peter One

  4. Fields of Heather : Haakon Ellingsen

  5. Deseet Raven : Jonathan Wilson

  6. Cruel Annette : The New Mendicants

  7. Return To Sender : Mojave 3

  8. Some Advice : Gary Olsen

  9. Control : Broken Bells

  10. Mr Tillman : Father John Misty

  11. Avril 14th : Aphex Twin

  12. Shadow Blister : Alison Eales

  13. Nobody's Diary : Yazoo

  14. Hey Man (Now You're Really Living) : Eels

  15. After Hours : The Velvet Underground

  16. Vanity Fair : Squeeze

  17. Trophy : Bat for Lashes

  18. Chewing My Soul : Obi

  19. Difference Is Time : Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band

  20. The Greater Wings : Julie Byrne

  21. Zero Refills : Pernice Brothers

  22. True Love Travels On A Gravel Road : Nick Lowe

  23. Loan your Loneliness : Gruff Rhys

  24. L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. : Noah and the Whale
