Another weekend, another show. I'm not sure how Whispering Bob Harris (see picture above) felt about the preparation for each of his shows. I'm finding it a challenge finding new songs, so suggestions welcome. The delight is discovering a new song that fits or rediscovering an song you loved years ago but haven't heard for a while. In this week's show I hadn't heard Half Moon Run for a couple of years. Now I can't shake the thunderous piano out of my head.
I have two pieces of news for you. First, I will shortly be recording Pop In The Real World's first radio promo tape / jingle. When Darren (the station owner) asked me to make one I replied straight away "Of course. No problem." A few seconds later I added to that reply by saying "How do I do that?" Talk to Dave of Darkness is the answer.
The second piece of news is that next Sunday's show will be the Halloween special and, if you're unable to catch it on Sunday, it will be repeated (!) on Halloween itself. I'll let you know the time as soon as I have it. Around half the programme will feature songs linked in some way to the spirit of Halloween - tenouosly in some cases. It will be just a little poppier too.
