We start this show with a little amateur trickery before settling down to some frenetic rock and roll.
Moving swiftly on, we dive into the role of choirs in pop, including a bleak song from Talk Talk that is transformed through a choir into something completely beautiful.
We find some forgotten songs (by me at any rate) and some songs unfairly overlooked.
There's a joke about satnavs (not the U2 one) and some first rate pop both new and old.
Why listen to this show? Because you're worth it!
Finally, a little advance notice that this show will be creeping back towards a longer running time from Show 31 of ninety minutes or thereabouts. That's just the right length to help you settle into Autumn evenings.
The results of the Pop In The Real World Rock and Rollers with Attitude Awards are in. In third place -Cliff Richard, in second Flopsy Bunny and, taking the crown, Lemmy.
AND they're all connected in some way to this show
Here's the running order:
Ace of Spades - Motorhead
Glimmers - Goodbye Wudaokou
Working Man's Cafe - Ray Davies and the Crouch End Festival Choir
Loyal Girl - Flopsy's Dream
Got To Have Love - Pulp
Leave Home - The Chemical Brothers
Get Up - Phoebe Rings
Hold You Now - Vampire Weekend (featuring Danielle Haim)
Surrender ('88 Version) - Suicide
Gateway Drug - Martha Rose
I Believe In You (Single Version) - Talk Talk
To The Stars - Obi
Lotus - Infinity Song
Disappear - INXS
